Abingdon Studios successfully received Grants for the Arts funding from Arts Council England for a period of 1 year.
2016?will focus on a range of activity to test bed ways which Abingdon develops in situ currently in Blackpool.
The funding will offer an employment opportunity for a residency coordinator as well as a series of commission and guest speaker funds to connect national artists with the working artists in the studio spaces.
It will also allow a focused period to explore Abingdon Studios governance structure in order to best position a sustainable contemporary space in the heart of Blackpool
One of the main aspects of the funding is to develop the WORK/LEISURE residency programme in partnership with Grundy Art Gallery
