Abingdon Studios is a contemporary visual art studios and project space based in the heart of Blackpool Town Centre.
We provide a space where both artists living and working in Blackpool and visiting artists can generate new work, drawing on a rich and unique cultural landscape, in a supportive working environment that encourages dialogue, new ideas and risk-taking.
Abingdon Studios is the only dedicated contemporary visual arts studio provider in Blackpool, and we aim to be a centre for talent development whilst?nurturing development across?visual arts.
Abingdon Studios has 10 artists studios and a dedicated Project Space (ASPS).
Artist benefit from great transport links in and out of the town and 24 hr studios access. Abingdon Studios is located less than 5 minutes walk from the Grundy Art Gallery.
Artists seeking a platform for dissemination, discussion and production of new work are encouraged.
Since 2014 Abingdon Studios has worked with key partners including?LeftCoast, Blackpool Council’s Economic Development and Arts Service and?Grundy Art Gallery and Arts Council England.
There is currently a waiting list for studio space/s. Our Project Space is available for hire in support of new exhibitions or events. Enquiries can be made via our contact page or alternatively you can subscribe for updates here.
Abingdon Studios continues to share its journey, speaking to a variety of audiences as part of broad discussions about art, culture, regeneration and ecology. If you would like a representative to speak at any event/s then please contact us.
