Joseph Doubtfire

Solo commission, Abingdon Studios Project Space.

Joseph Doubtfire unapologetically transformed the entire exhibition floor as an arena for shape, colour, form and material placement. Remnant materials have been collected over several years during the artist’s time as a lecturer, showing care and homage to the classroom as a space of inspiration and secondary income within the artist’s profile. The act of collaging the floor in this way can be read as disruptive of conventional spatial hierarchies, challenging viewers to reconsider their relationship with the material world and the fragments of daily life embedded within it.
Dunno Dunno promises to captivate audiences with a playful and poignant commentary on the quotidian realities of work-life balance.

About the artist:

Based at Abingdon Studios, Blackpool

Doubtfire makes collages, writes essays, takes photographs, forms collections. He paints VR environments, creates digital art, plays with digital forms. His practice is unashamedly broad, darting between old and new, education and creation, beauty and experimentation.
